Directions for Living is a nonprofit organization rooted in compassion, dignity, and integrated care. Our team of more than 250 dedicated professionals provides therapeutic support, case management, psychiatry, community outreach, and life-changing programs that touch tens of thousands of lives each year.

We wrap individuals and families in the care they need, helping break cycles of trauma and build pathways toward hope and resilience. Our work is grounded in evidence-based and research-supported practices and shaped by the real needs we see in our community every day.

Here’s a glimpse at the services we provide:

Trauma-Informed Mental healthcare

We provide therapeutic interventions, support programs, psychiatric medication management, and counseling designed to address mental health disorders, addiction issues, underlying trauma, and other co-occuring disorders.

wraparound family support programs

Our Wraparound services for families use a comprehensive, team-based model that works to address multiple, individualized needs within a family unit, including case management, counseling, skill-building, help with basic needs, and more.

housing support and stability

DFL offers a range of assistance tailored to the unique needs of children, families, and older adults experiencing housing instability in our community, aiming to stabilize their living situations, provide resources, and empower them towards self-sufficiency.

community education and training

DFL understands that education is paramount in creating awareness, reducing stigma, and fostering understanding around mental health. We are dedicated to leading the conversation by providing important evidence-based trainings and resources.
