Housing Stability and support
we’re here to help
Through our Housing First Division, Directions for Living offers a range of services designed to support children, families, and adults experiencing housing instability or homelessness in our community. Many of the individuals and families we serve are facing housing challenges as a result of past trauma, behavioral health needs, or other life circumstances—and we recognize that people living with mental health challenges are often more vulnerable to housing instability.
Our programs focus on helping individuals and families stabilize their housing, connect to essential resources, and build a path forward. With compassionate, person-centered support, we work alongside each individual to promote long-term stability, healing, and greater self-sufficiency.

Restoring hope
Experiencing housing instability can feel overwhelming, especially when it’s connected to past trauma, behavioral health challenges, or other difficult life circumstances—but you are not alone. At Directions for Living, we work alongside individuals and families to help stabilize housing, navigate immediate needs, and begin moving forward.
We understand that people facing mental health challenges are often more vulnerable to housing instability and homelessness, which is why our approach is compassionate, coordinated, and centered around the whole person or family. Our team connects individuals with essential resources, behavioral health services, case management, and other community supports to address both housing and the underlying challenges that impact stability.
Our goal is to help people find safety, regain stability, and build a path toward greater independence and hope for the future.

“This year has been incredibly hard for our family. We went from living in our car, to staying in a hotel, and nearly losing our vehicle altogether. Directions for Living truly made us feel human again. Working with my case manager has been life-changing. She keeps me on track, supports me, and empowers me to take control of my future. Because of this program, I feel hopeful and capable of building stability for my family.”
