what to expect

course format & requirements

Mental Health First Aid courses are offered both in person and virtually. Each course is led by one or two certified instructors using a national, evidence-based curriculum, with classes limited to 30 participants or fewer.

Requirements for Virtual Course:
Access to Zoom with a camera & microphone
Completion of approximately 3 hours of self-guided coursework before class
Participation in a 5.5-hour live virtual training
Requirements for In-Person Course:
Commitment to an 8-hour instructor-led training
Bring a laptop or mobile device to complete the course quiz and evaluation

earn a certification

Participants who complete the training earn Mental Health First Aider Certification through the National Council for Behavioral Health, which is valid for three years.
