Crisis Intervention team (CIT) Training
Safer Responses. Better Outcomes.
About CIT
The Crisis Intervention Team (CIT) model is designed to improve interactions between law enforcement officers and individuals experiencing mental health challenges. When someone is in a mental health crisis or exhibiting behaviors related to a mental illness, CIT helps connect them to appropriate mental health services and support rather than directing them into the criminal justice system.
Through 40 hours of specialized training, CIT equips law enforcement officers with the skills to recognize the signs of mental illness, prevent crises from escalating, and safely de-escalate situations when they occur. The program emphasizes compassionate response strategies that reduce the need for physical force and promote safer outcomes for everyone involved.

How to register
CIT training spots are available on a first come, first served basis. Due to the incredible demand for this training, all agencies must have secured their registrations with payment no later than 10 business days prior to the class start date. Each class has 37 seats available.
